Just before Christmas, I was lucky enough to visit New York, and naturally I included some Bondian landmarks in my itinerary.
Among the places I visited were the Oyster Bar at Grand Central Station (home to the oyster stew that James Bond is so fond of), the King Cole Bar at the St Regis Hotel (Bond stays at the hotel in Live and Let Die and Ian Fleming enjoyed a martini or two at the bar), and Sardi’s restaurant, where Bond and Felix Leiter have lunch in Diamonds Are Forever.

Thank you for sharing. How was the soup?

Delicious! Nice and creamy. I have a recipe for oyster stew in my cookbook, if you’d like to replicate it at home.

This is one of my favorite very very short stories. I use it as a base for my NYC tours, and parts from novels and movies. The Oyster Bar is one of my favorite lunch stops.
